What was the highlight of Alona Bay Guest House

Horrible place

Everything was bad. Finding that place was hard, no signs and nobody didn’t knew the place. Place was next to big construction and there was very noisy. There were no towels and when we asked them, I got a towel with a big hole in it and next morning when I asked new ones they delivered them at the evening and towels were smelly. Everything was old and in the bathroom there was no room at all and door was broken

Staff are helpfull

Bed, toilet, smell of a/c, water supply, etc. Anyway, you get what you paid for.. Don’t expect a lot if you are paying a cheap place to stay..

The wifi couldn't reach our room. There is no bidet. Lowkey breakfast. No telephone in our room. The room is too small for 2,000 pesos. Over-all review, I AM NOT SATISFIED!

A very bad experience.

A very bad experience. Guest house have no water and electricity on the first night. Our room was pay on arrival, but the staff said they have no change and end up they didn't return back the rest money to us. very bad service...

Sink leaking bad, no phone inside the room,. No beach towel available for guest . Walkways to property is flooded during rain no drainage.room is dark. Inadequate lighting. No safety deposit box for valuables .

Will never stay at that resort again

It was close to the beach

Despite email exchanges they were not expecting us when we arrived. They tried to increase the room rate already booked. It was very hard to find as the Booking.com map is wrong. The room was not private. Overall very poor.

Mailed us at 10:30am of the check-in date to cancel the booking because there were full occupancy even my booking was confirmed. Not responsible and also replied us very slow!

Very disappointing

Despite having this place booked weeks before arrival and also receiving emails from booking.com stating we would be able to change our check in time prior to arrival just hours before reaching the hostel, they had no record of us on arrival. They had given our room to another guest even though we confirmed a late arrival would be okay with the property. We arrived late, and were told we could stay in another room in the ground floor, not the room we originally paid for. It was so late we had no choice but to take it. Was very noisy and covered in dust due to the building site next door. We reduced our stay to one night and found another place. Guesthouse is right by a building site which was in operation 24 hours. Was noisy all night and room was very dusty. Power cut in the morning meant not shower or air con available.

Arrived to be told our room had been taken.

Arrived to be told our room had been taken. We were not alone in finding this, 3 other couples were in the same situation. Owner didn’t show much interest initially but eventually found us a place for one night, although this was miles away from the centre; essentially a tin shed in the woods (better than nothing I suppose). On the 2nd night the owner attempted to find a room closer although failed to do so, we managed to find one ourselves fortunately. Wouldn’t recommend for obvious reasons!

A noisy, dirty place..... go somewhere else

There was nothing to like about this dump

The guest house is surrounded on three sides by construction of a massive new building and work continued until 1 am. We had planned to stay here 4 nights, but 1 was enough. We tried to check out and the staff said no refund. We rang the owner who was indifferent and refused to refund. We went to the Tourist Police and they came around and demanded that a refund be given. After the police talked to staff and the owner was contacted again, a 50% refund magically appeared. The room was dirty with sand everywhere and filthy walls. In the bathroom, there was a hole in the ceiling and mold all through the mirror. The hangers were rusty and the towel rack was disgusting. I have travelled around the world for 30 years and this is the worst place I've ever stayed in.
